1. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, phone number, login credentials and profile details you provide.
- Tuition request and order data: district / estate, the student’s year level and school, subject(s), lesson format, preferred time slots, number of lessons, and communications relating to tutor matching.
- Tutor data (where you apply to teach): academic qualifications, teaching experience, identity documents and any certificates you submit for verification.
- Payment data: billing-related information processed by our payment partners (e.g. card networks, Stripe, PayPal, Airwallex). We do not store full card numbers on our own servers where the processor handles tokenization.
- Technical data: device type, IP address, browser, cookies and usage logs needed to operate and secure the Platform.
2. How we use information
We use personal data to:
- create and manage accounts, authenticate users and prevent fraud;
- process tuition requests, orders, payments, refunds and customer support;
- match parents / students with tutors and facilitate lessons;
- verify tutor qualifications and identity where applicable;
- improve the Platform, comply with law and enforce our Terms;
- send transactional notices; marketing only with consent or where permitted by law.
3. Sharing
We may share data with: (a) the matched tutor, strictly as needed to deliver the lessons (for example the district, subject and time slot); (b) payment processors and banking partners (including Airwallex / 空中云汇 where enabled); (c) cloud hosting, analytics and security vendors under contract; (d) authorities when required by law. We do not sell personal data.
4. Retention and security
We retain data only as long as needed for the purposes above, legal obligations and dispute resolution. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
5. International transfers
We are operated in Hong Kong and primarily serve Hong Kong users, but data may be processed in Hong Kong and in other jurisdictions where our service providers (for example hosting, email or payment processors) operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
